design for Dr. Ersson in Portland, Oregon, west hill side looking down to downtown. After reading some of his simple, green living articles and pictures of his living practices, self-design living cottage, I had few sketches for his expansion

the structure above section shows the rain collector, living roof, collecting rain water down to a storage tank of heavy concrete, in ground, also using as structure anchoring to ground foundation

detail of the living roof, with bales as insulation and top soil for growing light garden, herb garden, mushroom from straw, top layer will be retrofitted few years. Next to the structure roof deck is the single ply roofing and root control layer top barrier.

thinking of a tilt-up concrete-bale together at one shot, since the cement plaster need to be applied on the exterior side to withstand rainy weather in Portland, using thin concrete panel hybrid with bales at pouring flat, could be a time saving and speeding the construction time before it rains .. I don't like using more concrete, but we can't deny the concrete in our life anyway... and it rains a lot here, mold grows on everything .. very wet .. then Portland is very green

Phần trên là cách làm tường rơm tiền chế với mặt ngoài bằng bê tông để chống nắng mưa. Tường bành rơm được xếp nằm lên phần tường bê tông đổ phẳng, sau khi khô cứng sẽ dựng lên bằng máy trục, máy nâng. Làm tường dưới đất sẽ nhanh hơn và không phải dững dàn khuôn, tuy nhiên phải có hệ thống nâng đủ sức nặng, và có khoảng trống chung quanh cho máy nâng di chuyển.
